AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing Reviewed on Nurse 2 Nurse Daily

The AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing understands that getting a nursing license in New York State is hard work. This is why they have a designed a well-planned, well-executed program in Downtown Brooklyn for prospective students.

In a recent post on the main website, we reviewed the program as part of a series. The post is a review of AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing. It puts the school under a microscope.

Here are some highlights from the review.

  • AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA). With backing from this respected and prestigious organization, AMG is a certified, legitimate LPN school. Though the AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing is new, they are one of only four approved LPN programs in Brooklyn. Accreditation matters.
  • The year long training has a tuition of $18,000. And, here’s a zinger: the school cannot yet offer financial aid. While they are working on other methods to help their students afford the high price tag, current students can pay for each class individually. Pay as you go is much cheaper than pay-it-at-once.
  • Once payment has been settled, LPN students can choose between the day (12 months) or evening (14 months) programs. Each program offers thirteen courses that are completed in sequence, one at a time.
  • Med-surg clinicals take place at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Fort Greene. On a rotating basis, LPN students can also do clinicals at city hospitals through the Health and Hospitals Corporation. Further training takes place at the Ruby Weston Manor and the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
  • AMG graduated its first classes in 2013. Of the five students who took the NCLEX-PN, 100% passed the exam on the first attempt. AMG, however, does not provide information on the amount of students who enrolled at the beginning of the course.

Overall, the AMG School of Licensed Practical Nursing performed strongly in our review. They earned a B grade. You can read the full AMG School of Practical Nursing review on the Nurse2Nurse Daily website.
